What splendid information that Eton will educate younger individuals within the north (21 March). This might make a major contribution to the levelling-up agenda, as it’s going to allow working-class youngsters to discard the plebeian attitudes which might be holding them again, and undertake the values which have led to success for Eton alumni similar to David Cameron and Boris Johnson.

Everlasting summer season may fit within the south of England (Letters, 22 March), however it doesn’t work within the north of Scotland. A 3-year experiment that started in 1968 proved this. And beginning the day’s work in winter darkness was totally dismal.

Uncooked bread dough could also be a superb deterrent for slugs and snails (Letters, 20 March), however not so good for pet canine’ tails. If canine eat dough, the yeast ferments inside them, swells and may kill them. Please watch out.
